What to Expect
We feature 3-4 DJs per show. Doors at 8 PM, music ends at 12:30 AM. Tickets $10 advance, $12 at the door. 18+
Events are currently held at the Willow Creek Theatre at 327 S Gilbert St. Drinks are BYOB, with Tequila Cowgirl (two doors down) offering to-go drinks with a portion going to the event. Coolers on-site to keep any beverages cold, some packaged snacks provided, free water cooler.
Every three months or so, we hold public DJ/dance events to raise money for local charities. We pick two charities on a theme, and the DJs also curate tracks around that theme. Always sure to include all kinds of danceable tunes and bangers, we'll keep you moving all night. There are vendors selling fun and artsy merch, a portion of which goes to the charities. Meet new folks and get down for a cause!
What We're About
Ragers for Charity aims to build community and raise funding for local non-profits doing direction action in our communities through an ongoing series of DJ/dance/music events. Within this, we aim: To encourage Joy within resistance movements, to offer a safe space for growth and expression, and to release pent up nervous system responses to challenging emotions (rage, anger, disappointment) through collective body movement.
Our dream was to host an ongoing series of DJ/music/dance events to benefit local charities doing direct action in our communities, especially those causes that are under duress. And we've made that dream come true! Started in Iowa City, Iowa, by a group of friends who realized that now, more than ever, we need community! We need joy! And we need resistance! So we rage for charity and spread joy as resistance!
